Times are changing and whether you like it or not, you are always going to be part of change. But I can admit that I haven't displayed the best of myself in the process of change itself. Life is full of ups and downs and we all know this because it's just the way life is. But it's how we deal with these times, especially in volatile times does not necessarily reflect your true nature but I believe gives us an opportunity to trust and obey God's voice. I have been the biggest culprit in ignoring the Lord when he has been testing and challenging me. I know what is right and I can hear what he is saying, but I am choosing to ignore it. In my own stubbornness and pride, in ignoring what the Sprit has been trying to teach me, I know that I have hurt people along the way and I am truly sorry. But it's never too late to start following God's commands.
The Lord has plans for us,
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
- Jeremiah 29:11
and He wants us to display His grace and his love for His people the way that he does for His people himself.
I've been praying and reflecting on the words of others in ministry and thinking that if the Lord will only test you to what you can bear (1 Corinthians 10:13), then the Lord knows that whatever He puts us through that we can overcome it and that we are ready to overcome it. But what helps me to keep going is the knowledge that our God has the faith in us to be able to overcome all we encounter in life. God, the creator of the universe, our most gracious, loving, kind and all knowing Father knows that we have the ability to overcome the devil.
It's always harder said than done, but it is our attitudes that the Lord looks at. He doesn't judge us according the actions of others or the words that they speak, but He judges us according to our hearts.
And ultimately, at the end of my life, I want to stand before the Lord and hear him say,
"...Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness."
- Matthew 25:21
